As promised, my piece from the random words "Hug" and "Seduction".

The Seduction

Roses are red and so are my cheeks!

This is like sooooo embarassing….

Oh Woman, as I lay with my arms wrapped around your naked, peacefully sleeping form, I sit up delicately as to not disturb your rest and I think upon your beauty…

And I wonder…

Just who you are?…

Do I ~know~ somebody with long, red hair?

And where we are?…

I don’t recall owning a pastel coloured bedroom…

And who I am?…

Are those my feet?

And just what the heck happened last night after I blacked out?…

I feel your warm hand slide up my bare back as your surprisingly strong, serpentine arms wrap and wind their way around my chest, suddenly pulling backwards…

“G’mornin’ Suga’” you purr into my ear with hot breath “Get back down here! Where did you think you were goin’? Your work ain’t done yet!”

GULP! Mmmmmmmmmrrrrrrrfffffffffff!….

Oh, and just where ~did~ that film crew come from?

This week's homework for my writer's group was two-fold, first we had to write a piece based on words that we pulled at random from a box. The words were all related to a theme befitting this time of year: Love.

Not exactly my favorite topic these days, however, I decided to take the challenge in stride and will hopefully have a piece to post before tomorrow's meeting!

The second task was to just bring in a little something (poem, song, etc...) about love. as an example our facilitator gave each of use a famous bit of love poetry to read (You will note the quote I posted from the piece I read last week).

I'm not exactly a poetry sort, I've always had a very time reading and understanding lyrical writing, well, unless it's in the form of a song. So, I decided that it would be fun to bring in one or two of my favorite songs about love.

However, deciding on just a couple turned out to be too much of a challenge, so, in grand "Moulin Rouge" style I decided to create a poem out of lyrics from my favorite love songs. I needed to limit the criteria slightly, (as to avoid an epic that would make Beowulf himself cringe) so I choose only songs that had the word "Love" in their titles and were part of my regular computer playlist.

I apologize if any of these lyrics are incorrect, I've done my best to insure accuracy, but you never know with 'net based information sources.

If anyone feels up to the task, I’m offering a special art prize to the first person that can correctly identify all the songs I used. There’s 31 in total, however, I have used different lyrics from some songs in more than one place.

Each night before you go to bed my baby
Whisper a little prayer for me my baby
And tell all the stars above
This is dedicated to the one I love

Come my love, I'll tell you a tale
Of a boy and girl and their love story
And how he loved her oh so much
And all the charms she did possess

You see me rocking as I pass me by
Don't talk about me 'cause I could be high
Just forgive me if you will
I live the life I love and I love the life I live

Maybe I'm lonely, and that's all I'm qualified to be,
There's just one and only, the one and only promise I can keep.

No love, love don't come easy
But I keep on waiting
Anticipating for that soft voice
To talk to me at night
For some tender arms to hold me tight
I keep waiting

There goes my baby
She knows how to rock n' roll
She drives me crazy
She gives me hot and cold fever
Then she leaves me in a cool, cool sweat
I gotta be cool relax, get hip

And I would do anything for love,
I'd run right into hell and back,
I would do anything for love,
I'll never lie to you and that's a fact.

I saw him dancin' there by the record machine
I knew he must a been about seventeen
The beat was goin' strong
Playin' my favorite song
An' I could tell it wouldn't be long
Till he was with me, yeah me

I'm gonna be a real fast talker
And have me a love affair
Gotta get my timin' right
It's a test that I gotta pass
I'll chase you all the way to the stairway honey
Kiss your sassafras

Lingerie second floor
She said
"Can I see you later and love you just a little more?"

Somebody told me
Love makes you stupid
Makes you go crazy
Makes you go blind
Comes uninvited
And leaves when it wants to
Calls you at midnight and ties up your line

Do you remember when we met?
That's the day I knew you were my pet
I want to tell you how much I love you

I can no longer hide
I can no longer run
No longer can I resist the guiding light
It gives me the power to keep up the fight
Love, thy will be done

Don't let them fool you
Or even try to school you, oh no!
We've got a mind of our own
So go to hell if what you're thinking is not right
Love would never leave us alone

Will you raise me up?
Will you help me down?
Will you help get me right out of this godforsaken town?
Will you make it a little less cold?

Like a river flows surely to the sea, darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you

Since I have found you my life has just begun
And I see all of your creations as one perfect complex
No one less beautiful or more special than the next
We are all blessed and so wise to accept
Thy will, Love, be done

Mama tells me I shouldn't bother
That I ought to stick to another man
A man that surely deserves me
But I think you do

That old dog has chained you up alright
Give you everything you need to live inside a twisted cage
Sleep beside an empty rage
I had a dream I was your hero

I'm major in love, but in all minor keys
'Cause falling in love is so hard on the knees

I wanna love you and treat you right
I wanna love you every day and every night
We'll be together with a roof right over our heads
We'll share the shelter of my single bed
We'll share the same room, yeah!

One Love, One Heart
Let's get together and feel all right
Hear the children crying: One Love
Hear the children crying: One Heart
Sayin' give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right
Sayin' let's get together and feel all right

My diamond ring and my money too
Tomorrow night they could belong to you
The girls move me at their will
I live the life I love and I love the life I live

Well, did I ask you?
Yes would you come and share
Oh, share
Oh, the burden and the task
That's at love's command
Didn't I say?
All those lovin' special things

Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on
Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long
We're both of us beneath our love, we're both of us above

Tonight I'll be your mother
I will do such things to ease your pain
Free your mind and you won't feel ashamed

Livin' it up when I'm goin' down

When I realized that you need love too,
Gonna spend my life makin' love to you.

If you tease me tonight
If you sleaze me all right
If you appease me tonight
And let me ease you

I sat on the mountainside with peace of mind
I lay by the ocean making love to her with visions clear
Walked for days with no one near
And I return as chained and bound to you

Mary, Mary quite contrary, close the door now
It's much too scary
And you might see something you wish you hadn't seen
Out of sight, out of time, out of patience,
And I'm out of my mind

Lately I have desperately pondered
Spent my nights awake and I wonder
What I could have done in another way
To make you stay
Reason will not lead to solution
I will end up lost in confusion

We was making love when you told me that you loved me
I thought Ol' Cupid he was taking aim
I was believer when you told me that you loved me
And then you called me someone else's name

Oh well, there goes the fairy tale
Lord, ain't it a shame
In all this comfort, I can't take the strain

You ain't gonna miss your water
Until your well runs dry
No matter how you treat him
The man will never be satisfied

The problem is all inside your head she said to me
The answer is easy if you take it logically
I'd like to help you in your struggle to be free
There must be fifty ways to leave your lover

My lover's gone,
His boots no longer by my door,
He left at dawn,
And as I slept I felt him go
Returns no more,
I will not watch the ocean,
My lover's gone

As I think of the past and all the pleasures we had
As I watch the mating of the dove
It was in the springtime that you said goodbye
I remember our faded love

If I didn't, darlin', you see, I'm so sorry
Didn't I reach out and hold you in these lovin' arms?
Well, if I didn't, oh baby, well, I'm so sorry

I know my love is an arrant rover
I know he'll wander the wild world over
In dear old Ireland he'll no longer tarry
An American girl he's sure to marry

My heart is empty
Your eyes are dull
Once we were hungry
Now we are full
These ties that bind us
Can't beat these chains
If love is shelter
I'm gonna walk in the rain

I believe life could be paradise once again
And the love we thought we lost is sleeping within

Love hurts, Love scars, Love wounds and mars
Any heart not tough or strong enough
To take a lot of pain, take a lot of pain
Love is like a cloud, it holds a lot of rain
Love hurts, Ooo-oo Love hurts

This thing they call love
It's gonna make you cry
I've had the blues
The reds and the pinks
One thing for sure
Love stinks

Ain't talkin' about love
don't wanna talk about love
don't need to talk about love
ain't gonna talk about love
no more no more

That's me mama
I robbed the devil of love
