Pattern Symbology

To use the patterns from this site, you need to understand the symbols used in the illustrations.

Copper Coloured Link

Copper Links represent the links that are the part of the pattern that you're adding to. Open gold links will always pass through copper coloured links.

Gold Coloured Link

Gold Links represent links that you're adding to the pattern. They are always added to the pattern as open links that pass through copper links. Most pattern steps will end with closing a gold link.

Silver Coloured Link

Silver links that go through a Gold Link represent extra links that are being added to the pattern. They are always added to a pattern closed.

Dark Coloured Link

Darkened links represent extraneous pattern detail.
